Calasept has a very high calcium hydroxide content (>41%), so the hydroxyl ions present create an elevated pH of 12.4. It provides an antimicrobial effect. The high concentration of calcium hydroxide results in the durability of Calasept - it releases calcium ions long after application. Calasept is a ready-to-use paste in a sealed syringe, applied directly through a needle.
